Projectile event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Datta Khel, North Waziristan District area, Pakistan on Wed 23rd September 2026

On September 23, Security Forces (SFs) killed four Fitna al-Khwarij [FaK, a State term for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its associated groups] terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reports Khyber Chronicles. According to the report, SFs used aerial surveillance to identify a suspected militant formation inside a compound before cordoning off the location. The forces subsequently engaged the militants with launchers and other weapons, killing four. A search of the compound following the engagement reportedly led to the recovery of a large quantity of weapons. The report did not provide details of any SF casualties. The casualty and recovery claims were attributed to security sources and could not be independently verified.
