On September 19, a total of eight terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Khwarij [FaK, a State term for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its associated groups] were killed, and Inspector General (IG) Kohat was injured during an overnight clearance operation following the deadly two-pronged assault near a mosque in old Police Lines in Kohat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on September 18, reports The Khyber Chronicles. According to the issued statement, the death toll rose to 23 on Saturday (September 19, 2026), including 17 Policemen and six civilians. Earlier, SATP had reported that at least 22 persons, including 15 Policemen, were killed and more than 100 others sustained injuries in the attack.
