Police foiled a planned armed clash between two rival groups and arrested five persons, Mahinder Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh alias Peeta, Amrinder Singh and Satvant Singh alias Gill Manuke, and recovered eight firearms, including two pump-action rifles, a .30-06 rifle, a .315-bore rifle and four pistols, along with eight magazines, 106 live cartridges and two vehicles, in Nihal Singh Wala, Moga District, on September 18, reports The Tribune. Acting on a tip-off that the groups were planning to confront each other at Dana Mandi, police set up a checkpoint and intercepted the suspects.
