Three arrested overground workers (OGWs) linked to the proscribed Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) allegedly facilitated the movement of multiple terrorist groups from Rajouri-Reasi through the Pir Panjal region to Shopian District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior on September 18. Azam, Zakir Hussain and Mohd Mushtaq, residents of Kot Charwal, Rajouri, were arrested on September 14 after police uncovered an alleged LeT-linked logistical support network. Police said the accused had provided shelter, logistical assistance and guidance to terrorists for several years. An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was recovered from a forest near their village, followed by a pistol, magazine, ammunition and two Chinese grenades from their hideout. Their alleged involvement in facilitating terrorists later killed in a 2023 encounter at Chassana, Reasi, and providing ground support for attacks in Rajouri is under investigation.
