In Hpakant Township, Kachin State, the KIA and joint resistance forces attacked and captured two bases of the junta-affiliated SNA in the Sezin region, while also intercepting a joint junta-SNA column advancing toward He Par Village in the Indawgyi region of Mohnyin Township, resulting in heavy casualties for junta forces and the seizure of numerous weapons and ammunition, a KIA military source told Khit Thit Media.

On September 29, the KIA and joint resistance forces attacked and captured two SNA military bases on Taung Yar Kone in the Sezin area near the border of Hpakant and Homalin townships. Numerous members of the junta-affiliated SNA were killed or wounded during the battle, while remaining troops abandoned the bases and fled, according to the KIA source.

A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was seized during the capture of the two bases. While no resistance forces were injured during the actual combat, two resistance fighters sustained injuries from landmine explosions while clearing mines inside and around the bases, the KIA military source said.

One resistance fighter had to undergo a foot amputation after stepping on a landmine during mine-clearing operations at the captured base, while another suffered shrapnel wounds to the arm and chest.
