SAA event in Mexico on Thu 24th September 2026

Jorge Martínez Martínez, known as "El Chila" and aged 37, was executed on the morning of Thursday, September 24, 2026, in the auxiliary community of Chipilo, within the municipality of San Gregorio Atzompa, Puebla. According to reports from security agencies, the deceased had a criminal record for drug-trafficking offenses—for which he had previously served time in Mexico City—and was identified as a source of violence involved in the theft and illicit sale of hydrocarbons (*huachicol*). After returning to the Chipilo community, Martínez Martínez had received prior threats; consequently, the primary line of investigation points to a targeted attack.
