A fragment of a rocket with a warhead weighing 227 kg fell in an open area in the Darnytsia district of the capital. The unexploded ordnance posed a serious threat to people and infrastructure.
Specialists from the explosives service of the Kyiv Police Headquarters rendered the warhead safe, after which, using special equipment, they removed it for further disposal at a special landfill outside the capital.
That night, during the combined missile and drone attack by the enemy, law enforcement officers also worked at other crash sites and impacts in various areas of the city. In particular, explosives experts surveyed the area for unexploded ordnance, as well as detected and identified missile and drone fragments for further examination.
Along with ensuring the safety of people, such work helps investigators and operatives document the consequences of Russian attacks and collect evidence of war crimes committed by the enemy against the civilian population of Ukraine.
