The soldier, identified as Cpl. Amos Bala, was reportedly kidnapped on Sept. 27, 2026, at the NATC Miango Range.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the victim was released by his abductors at about 9:00 p.m. on Sept. 28 following sustained pressure from troops conducting rescue operations in the area.
