An ambush carried out by hitmen against members of the State Public Security Forces (FSPE) left three state police officers dead—two men and one woman—on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in the municipality of Comonfort, Guanajuato. The attack took place a few minutes after 4:00 p.m. near the community of Delgado de Arriba.

To carry out the attack, the gunmen used several vehicles to directly block the path of the patrol car in which the officers were traveling, preventing them from advancing or escaping.
