On 19 September 2021, 1-5 civilians and Taliban members were killed and unspecified number injured in an IED explosion planted by the Islamic State militants targeting Taliban vehicles in Jalalabad city, Nangarhar. The Islamic State militant claimed to have killed and injured at least 35 Taliban members.
