On 23 September 2026, near Set Taw Kone village (Indaw township, Katha district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes with Y-12 transport aircraft near Nant Thei bridge at around 11:30 am. The airstrike struck near a fuel compound outside Set Taw Kone village along the main road, and destroyed a fuel tanker truck and a trailer truck in flames. While Khit Thit Media reported the airstrike killed 3 people, Democratic Voice of Burma, Kachin News Group, Shwe Phee Myay News Agency, BBC News and The Voice of Chinland - VOC reported that the airstrike killed two transport workers including a truck driver and a conductor. The Irrawaddy also reported that the airstrike injured around 10 other drivers and local civilians. Fatalities coded as 2, using the lowest estimate.
