On 24 September 2026, Houthi forces carried out a 'preemptive and extensive' military operation using dozens of ballistic missiles and drones, targeting Saudi operations rooms, command and control centers, weapons depots, and other important sites in At Tuwal (Samtah, Jizan) and targeting missile launch sites and platforms in the military camp of Al Dagharir (coded separately) and a number of other military camps in Jizan governorate (coded separately). According to the Houthis, the military operation resulted in the killing of 98 soldiers of Saudi reinforcements, including Yemenis, Sudanese, and several Saudi soldiers and officers, and the destruction of Saudi weapon depots. Houthi forces claimed that the operations achieved 'precise and direct' hits. The claim was not corroborated by Saudi Arabia or third-party sources.
