Missile event in Russian Federation on Sun 20th September 2026
20th September 2026
On 20 September 2026, at night, Ukrainian forces carried out massive combination of ballistic missile and drone strikes (using 'FP-1', 'RZ-100', 'MICH-2000', 'Palyanitsiya', 'Vendetta', 'Lyutyi', 'Bars', 'Flamingo', 'Sichen', and 'Pelican': long-range drones, surface-launched missiles, hybrid missile-drones) on objects of energy and industrial infrastructure in different parts of Moscow city and its suburbs. Several drones and missiles directly struck (for the fourth time) the Gazpromneft-Moscow Oil Refinery (one of the largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation) in Kapotnya (Moscow - South-Eastern, Yugo-Vostochnyy, Moscow). As a result, several fuel storage tanks were struck and went up in large flames. According to Ukrainian MoD, AVT-6 primary processing unit, a complex oil processing unit, and an isomerization unit were hit and a large-scale fire broke out at the site. Casualties unknown. According to local sources, Russian air defense systems shot down a number of drones/missiles over the area, however, some Russian air defense rockets missed the targets and struck the oil refinery facilities. Also, the 'Sadovod' market came under drone/missile strike, where a fire broke out. Casualties unknown.
