On 24 September 2026, the Malian army claimed to have conducted airstrikes on several positions housing between 200 and 300 armed militants holding military equipment (likely JNIM, based on the presence of the militant group in the area and previous similar operations against the group around Dandougou) north of Dandougou (Toubacoro, Banamba, Koulikoro).
