UAV event in Ethiopia on Tue 22nd September 2026

On 22 September 2026, the Ethiopian Air Force (ENDF) conducted 15-20 drone strikes and an airstrike targeting TDF forces stationed in Facha Primary and Schools in Jahan, also known as Hulgize Lemlem, Raya Alamata (Southern Tigray, Tigray), and in Alamata, Merewa, Sifra Amora, and other surrounding locations (coded separately). The TPLF-led administration claimed the strikes killed 14 civilians and injured 22 others and accused the federal government of targeting civilians traveling to a market, including near Zekre Meles Secondary School and Iyasu Berhe Secondary School. However, eyewitnesses say they have observed several TDF soldiers among the casualties and observed ambulances and Isuzu trucks transporting injured people to Alamata Hospital for treatment. An unspecified number of TDF military equipment was hit by the strikes. 14 fatalities were split across four locations, coded as 3 for this event.
