UAV event in Ethiopia on Sat 19th September 2026

On 19 September 2026, around 11:30 am, the Ethiopian Air Force (ENDF) conducted multiple drone strikes targeting TDF forces in two locations (known as Gerah Bolwo and Babur/Train Station) in Kebele 1, Maychew town, Maichew (Southern Tigray, Tigray). The first strike killed 1 civilian in the Gerah Bolwo neighborhood, and an unspecified number of TDF soldiers who were holding a meeting in a forested area near Train Station were killed and injured. Eyewitnesses said that TDF soldiers prevented people from approaching the area following the attack. However, Bajajes (three-wheeled taxis) were observed at some distance from the location, transporting injured military personnel from the area. The TPLF-led administration accused the federal government of injuring civilians and damaging residential property and other assets. Unspecified number of fatalities was coded as 3.
