On 24 September 2026, Pakistani military forces carried out air and drone strikes on an army corps center in Gardez city, Paktia, bordering Pakistan's Kurram area (KPK). Pakistan claimed that, in retaliation for drone attacks carried out by the Taliban a day earlier, it targeted 10 locations across Afghanistan, saying the sites were used to launch and store drones. Pakistan also claimed that the strikes were limited to identified military targets. The Taliban, however, rejected the claim that it had targeted Pakistan with drones and stated that Pakistani airstrikes on parts of Kandahar, Paktia, and Khost provinces on 24 September (coded separately) killed four civilians. 4 fatalities split across 6 events. 1 fatality coded to this event.
