On 22 September 2021, in Nyaungdon town, Nyaungdon township (Maubin district, Ayeyarwady region), a bomb exploded inside the Nyaungdon Municipal Development Office. There were no casualties. Following the bombing, junta forces arrested a man inside the municipal office. The office stated that the detainee was not an employee.
