On 23 September 2021, an unknown number of assailants, presumably Malay Muslim separatists, threw three pipe bomb at a local base of Thai rangers at Ban Nam Bo village, tambon Ban Nam Bo, Panare district (Pattani), two of which exploded, killing one ranger and injuring another.
