In the Lone Khein area of Hpakant Township, Kachin State, gunfire broke out for a few minutes around 8:00 PM yesterday, September 22, with bullets hitting and damaging several homes in Kute Village, according to local residents.

"It wasn't an actual battle. It was more like the military council side firing warning or celebratory shots," a local male resident said.

Around 8:00 PM last night, gunfire was heard for about 10 minutes between Lone Khein Hospital Hill, the golf course, and Kute Maw, residents noted.
