A robbery involving gunfire occurred near a military checkpoint at the northern exit of Kalay town, Sagaing Region, and the military has been arresting and interrogating unrelated civilians, local news sources told Yangon Khit Thit news agency.

Around 8:00 PM on September 18, three armed individuals entered and robbed a workshop near Nway Oo San Monastery along Nway Oo San Alley at the northern exit of Kalay town.

The robbers were carrying firearms and hand grenades. After discharging a firearm, they robbed items from inside the workshop and forcibly took an earring and a mobile phone from a man present at the shop.
