A clash broke out on the Lanya-Bokpyin road segment in Bokpyin Township, Tanintharyi Region, leaving at least 2 soldiers critically injured and 1 resistance fighter dead, according to a statement released by KNLA Battalion 203, Company 4.
Today, September 18, around 6:00 AM, a clash occurred between the junta military and comrades from KNU/KNLA Battalion 203, Company 4, while they were on a territorial control patrol between Mileposts 4 and 5 near Chaung Mon village along the Lanya-Bokpyin road segment in Bokpyin Township. The exchange of fire reportedly lasted for over an hour.
During the engagement, the junta forces deployed overwhelmingly superior numbers and used various heavy and light weapons. Due to the imbalance of forces, resistance comrade Nay Zar Tun (aka Khaing Chon) was killed. On the junta side, at least 2 soldiers were critically (dangerously) injured, and the wounded soldiers were transported to Bokpyin town by ambulance.
