MALI 🇲🇱 | Yesterday, on 09/22, the JNIM published 2 statements on its propaganda outlets

🔶 The first statement claims an engagement against an Africa Corps patrol east of Diabali (Ségou region), which took place on Saturday 09/19. The terrorist group claims to have repelled the Russian patrol using mortar fire, stating that the latter were conducting "criminal operations and arbitrary violations against innocents in the region." According to the JNIM, the Africa Corps fled, abandoning 3 of their vehicles including 1 armored one, as well as equipment. The images notably show a GAZ-2330 "Tigr" as well as a Wagner militia flag (📸 on our map below)

🔷 The second statement claims the seizure of control of a FAMa military post in Yanfolila (Sikasso region), in the evening of 09/22.

⚠️ The presence of a Wagner flag in the images is noteworthy. It can be explained by the Africa Corps taking over part of the personnel and equipment from the former Wagner group during the transition carried out in 2025. It therefore constitutes an indicator of the continuity between the two structures
