An exchange of fire is underway between Security Forces (SFs) and cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in Kerimiti Forest under Mathili Police limits in Malkangiri District of Odisha on September 21, reports Pragativadi News. Superintendent of Police (SP), Prahlad Sahai Meena in a press briefing, informed that following information on Maoist activities in Tulsi Hill area personnel of Malkangiri District Voluntary Force (DVF) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Odisha Police launched a combing operation, and when the SFs were between Kerimiti and Chandametta Village, the Maoists opened fire on them. The SFs retaliated with continuous firing, SP, Meena added. At the time of this report, however, no loss of life has been reported from any side so far.
