A Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ‘commander’, identified as Safiullah was killed during an operation conducted by Security Forces (SFs) in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), reports Dawn. During the operation, the SFs also recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition. According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the TTP ‘commander’ Safiullah was involved in the killings of four female representatives of an NGO and engineers belonging to the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO). The slain ‘commander’ was also involved in the planning and execution of improvised explosive device (IED) attacks targeting SFs, besides cases of extortion and kidnapping for ransom, the ISPR said.
