On 11 September 2021, Iraqi Army artillery destroyed an IS hideout in the Shaykh Bawa Basin in Diyala province. The fire mission was intended to disrupt IS ground lines of communication (GLOC) between the Hamrin Mountains, Jalawla, and Khanaqin. There were no casualities.
