On 13 September 2026, in Myawaddy town (Myawaddy township, Myawaddy district, Kayin state), an unknown armed group detonated three car bombs at three locations including in front of the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) office on Aung Zeya Road in Ward 5, in front of the traffic police office at the Ye Pu intersection on Chit Kyi Yay Road, and near Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge No. 2 around 1:00 am. The explosions destroyed two vehicles and damaged the roof and windows of the traffic police office building. There were no casualties.
