Fulani Bandits  kill local vigilante member in Barkin Ladi

Suspected fulani bandits have killed a member of a local vigilante group, identified as Mr Christopher Titus, during an attack in Panse village, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident occurred at about 9:25 p.m. on September 18, 2026, when troops of Sector 4, Sub-Sector 41 Gashish, deployed around Panse responded to reports of gunshots in the community.

The troops’ quick intervention forced the attackers to flee into the surrounding area. The soldiers subsequently conducted a search of the location and discovered the lifeless body of Titus, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was serving as a member of a local vigilante group and was on sentry duty when he was attacked.

The troops immediately pursued the fleeing assailants but could not establish contact with them.

Meanwhile, troops have continued to dominate the general area through offensive operations and increased patrols in an effort to track down the perpetrators and prevent further attacks.
