On 13 September 2021, in Hlaingtharya township (Yangon-North district, Yangon region), two explosion occurred at two locations, including one near a police station on Nyaungdon road. There were no casualties. The H.T.Y Region Defense Force (HRDF) claimed that they did it as a warning and in commemoration of the 6-months-anniversy of the Bago massacre.
