On September 15, military troops entered and burned down Taw Pyar Village in Ngathayauk Township. They also raided villages between Ngathayauk and Nyaung-U Townships, including Shwe Hlan Pyan Village, while dressed in civilian clothes, beating and arresting at least five civilians.

Locals reported that on the morning of September 16, the same military column continued attacking villages using airstrikes, drones, and heavy artillery, forcing thousands of civilians from 15 villages between Ngathayauk and Nyaung-U to flee to safety.
