Grenade event in Punjab, Jalalabad, Fazilka District area, India on Mon 14th September 2026

Police on September 14 arrested two persons, identified as Gurpreet Singh and Manpreet Singh, for allegedly hurling a grenade at the city police station in Jalalabad, Fazilka District, in the early hours of September 13, reports The Tribune. Punjab Police claimed that Pakistani agencies were behind the attack. The grenade damaged the windows of two cars parked inside the police station, but caused no casualties. Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Punjab Police, Ferozepur Range, Snehdeep Sharma, said the accused had allegedly been hired to carry out the attack and that police had identified those who supplied the grenade. Two other suspects allegedly involved in the attack have also been identified and are expected to be arrested soon.
