IED event in Manipur, Molcham, Chandel District area, India on Sat 12th September 2026

On September 12, during a joint operation by Chandel Police and the 1st Assam Rifles (AR), a hidden cache of weapons and war-like stores was recovered from an area between Border Pillars 53 and 54 under Molcham Police Station, Chandel District, Manipur, reports Manipur Police on X. The recovered items included four single-barrel guns, three carbines, three Pompi guns, two .22 rifles, two Lathod guns, and three carbine magazines. Security personnel also recovered five 7.62 mm rounds, five detonators, two rounds of .22 ammunition, two No. 36 grenades, and two improvised explosive devices (IEDs). No arrests were reported in connection with the recovery.
