SAA event in Colombia on Mon 14th September 2026

As a result of operations carried out by soldiers from the 33rd Junín Light Infantry Battalion, the Colombian Navy, the Colombian National Police, and the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Attorney General's Office, a woman was recently arrested in the act of manufacturing, trafficking, or possessing narcotics. The operation took place in the town of Corozal, Sucre, where authorities executed a search warrant at a property, leading to the discovery of 211 grams of marijuana and 105 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately 5 million pesos, as well as four two-way radios and nine cell phones. This individual was allegedly responsible for drug trafficking in the Nelson Martelo neighborhood of Corozal, generating an estimated profit of 22 million pesos per month, and for maintaining territorial control for this illegal activity. According to authorities, these illicit funds would contribute to the financing of the Manuel José Gaitán Substructure of the Clan del Golfo organized armed group. The Colombian Army (@COL_EJERCITO) will maintain an institutional presence in the Sucre region, reaffirming its commitment to combating criminal activity and maintaining territorial stability.
