A vessel belonging to a junta fleet was shot at and sank near Wai Ma Village, Naung Mo Village Tract, in Shwe Gu Township, Kachin State, on the morning of September 16, according to frontline sources.

Heavy fighting had been ongoing in the area from the night of September 15 through this morning, he added.

The vessel was attacked and sank upon reaching Wai Ma Village while traveling upstream from Shwe Gu toward Bhamo, he stated.

Earlier, on the morning of September 14, another ship carrying junta troops traveling downstream from Bhamo was attacked and sank upon reaching Nat Myat Hna Mountain. Some personnel, including junta officers on board, scrambled ashore to save their lives.
