Clashes with a junta column advancing into Bhamo Township, Kachin State, resulted in more than 30 junta casualties and the capture of 10 soldiers, a KIA frontline source told Khit Thit Media.
On September 13, KIA-led joint forces ambushed junta troops advancing from Bhamo near Kong Ja Yang village, forcing the junta forces to retreat after sustaining heavy losses.
The military column included newly conscripted soldiers who had arrived as reinforcements in Bhamo. KIA joint forces intercepted them as they advanced toward Kong Ja Yang and Hein Aung buildings, resulting in over 30 junta soldiers killed and 10 captured as prisoners of war, alongside the seizure of weapons and ammunition.
Following the defeat, the junta troops retreated while carrying away their wounded, hiding in forests and buildings to avoid KIA drone and artillery strikes.
In response to the heavy losses suffered by its ground forces, the junta launched airstrikes in the area.
