Military informant Myo Chit, who had been extorting conscription fees from local civilians in the Wat Htee Kan area of Pyay Township, Bago Region, was shot and killed, according to local residents who spoke to Khit Thit Media.

At around 11:00 AM on September 10, unidentified gunmen shot military informant Myo Chit near Kan Su village, where he resided in the Wat Htee Kan area.

Myo Chit died on the spot during the attack, and officers from the Wat Htee Kan area police station retrieved his body later that afternoon.

In addition to collecting monthly conscription fees from civilians, Myo Chit was known to collect daily funds from local gambling operators to support the Wat Htee Kan police station.
