KIA-led joint forces attacked military vessels returning downriver from Bhamo Township in Kachin State toward Mandalay using drones, destroying another vessel and bringing the total number of destroyed warships and cargo vessels to 16 between late August and mid-September, according to KIA frontline sources.
On the morning of September 12, KIA-led joint forces attacked junta vessels sailing downriver from Bhamo toward Mandalay between Sar Wa Ti and Tha Pyay Kone villages in Bhamo Township, damaging one warship.
Junta personnel aboard the targeted vessel were transferred to another ship while preparations were being made to tow away the damaged vessel.
Following the attack, junta forces continued launching airstrikes in Bhamo Township, according to local residents.
