Joint forces led by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) attacked and crushed junta columns advancing toward Zin Bong village in Shwegu Township, Kachin State, killing over 100 soldiers and seizing a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, bodies, and prisoners of war, a KIA military source told Khit Thit Media.
On the night of September 8, joint KIA forces attacked Light Infantry Battalions 12 and 119 under Division 33 as they advanced toward Zin Bong village in Shwegu Township. Over 100 soldiers were killed, including the battalion commander of LIB 12.
During the battle, joint forces captured weapons, ammunition, and bodies of fallen soldiers, while also taking several soldiers as prisoners of war, according to the KIA military source.
