On 8 September 2026, at 23:40, Russian forces carried out drone strikes on the Starokozache international border crossing (coded to Starokozache, Odesa), near the border with Moldova. 2 civilians were killed and 3, including a Moldovan bus driver, were injured. Border-crossing infrastructure was damaged, while buses, trucks, and passenger vehicles were destroyed and fires broke out.
