On 10 September 2026, Houthi forces fired missiles targeting IDPs from Hays, Khawkhah, and Mukha areas as they were on there way on the Hayjat al Abd road (Ash Shamayatayn, Taizz) to escape fighting between IRG and Houthi forces, resulting in the killing of over 100 civilians, including women and children, the injury of dozens, and the burning of 15 vehicles, according to initial reports. The IDPs were heading towards Aden governorate given the escalation on the west coast.
