On 15 September 2021, in Monywa town (Monywa Township, Monywa District, Sagaing Region), an explosion occurred at the military-owned Mytel Office. The explosion damaged the building. The Monywa PDF - Members of Steel later claimed responsibility for the bombing. There were no casualties.
