Around 7 September 2026 (as reported), suspected SPLM/A-IO and 'White Army' members (Nuer ethnic militia) who had gathered in Chuil and Luel, Nyirol County, northern Jonglei State, shelled unspecified targets in Gel Achiel Payam (location coded to Gel Achel, the nearest known location in Baliet County, Upper Nile State). The shelling was assessed as an attempt to deter the continued mobilization of Baliet youth and SSPDF forces in Gel Achiel (no further information). There were no casualties or damage recorded.
