On 15 September 2021, PKK-YJA STAR militants carried out a remote explosive attack in Zevkan (Seckin) village in Semdinli, Hakkari, targeting a Turkish army vehicle en route to Katune (Kayalar) village nearby. 7 soldiers were injured in the attack. HPG (PKK) claimed 6 Turkish solders were killed in the attack but this was not confirmed by other sources reporting on the event.
