On 16 September 2021, in Taungdwingyi township (Magway district, Magway region), two bombs exploded at a checkpoint on the Taungdwingyi-Myothit road. Residents reported that soldiers were injured as they witnessed ambulances arriving at the scene and loading up the casualties. The Beikthano PDF later claimed responsibility for the attack.
