On 10 September 2026, evening, around 23:10 Muscat time, suspected Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) launched four unidentified projectiles (coded as air/drone strike based on previous activity) that directly impacted two ships, one identified as the Romance crude oil tanker (IMO: 9468815) and another that remained unidentified at the time of reporting, 4 nm west of the Coast of Khasab in Omani territorial waters (Khasab, Musandam). The ships were each struck by two projectiles, causing a fire aboard at least one of them. The attack followed days of tit-for-tat attacks by the US and Iran on tankers in the region (coded separately).
