On 5 September 2026, in Nawng Pu Lu village (coded as Shadaw) (Shadaw township, Loikaw district, Kayah state), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes, dropping two 200-lb bombs and opening fire with machine guns from a fighter jet around 11 am. Khit Thit Media and Shwe Phee Myay News Agency reported that 4 civilians including 2 children were killed and 11 were injured. Around 4 houses were destroyed. Kantarawaddy Times reported that 5 civilians (an 11-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl and two 40-year-old women) were killed and 15 civilians including three children under 10 years old were injured. Fatalities coded as 4, using the lowest estimate.
