According to a KIA military source, KIA combined forces intercepted military columns advancing toward Zin Bong Village and Sinkhan in Shwegu Township, Kachin State, killing numerous junta troops—including a battalion commander—and capturing 9 firearms along with military equipment.
On the night of September 8, KIA combined forces intercepted Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 12 and Light Infantry Regiment (LIR) 119 under Light Infantry Division 33 as they advanced toward Zin Bong Village in Shwegu Township, with fighting continuing nearly all night.
During the battle, the battalion commander of LIB 12 was killed, and KIA combined forces recovered his body. The battalion commander of LIR 119 was also injured during the clash, according to the KIA military source.
