A military column advancing into Way Di Village in Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region, engaged in clashes with resistance forces and suffered heavy casualties. Troops are currently stationed inside the Way Di Village monastery and are firing indiscriminately toward surrounding villages using heavy artillery and small arms, according to local military sources.
Yesterday morning, September 8, a military column of over 100 troops departed from Launglon Town toward Pyin Htein Village, firing weapons as they raided the village.
Due to the military column's raid, local residents of Pyin Htein Village fled to safe areas and have been unable to return to their homes so far.
On September 9, at around 3:00 AM, the same military column continued its offensive from Pyin Htein Village toward Way Di Village, triggering clashes with resistance forces.
During the conflict, resistance forces repeatedly targeted the military column using drones, inflicting severe casualties on the junta side, a local military source reported.
