A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated weapons offenses after shooting a woman in the head in Malmö, police say.
The woman has been taken to hospital but according to police, her injuries are not life-threatening.
According to police, they were called to a residence in Sofielund in Malmö, just before 3 a.m., after a woman was injured in the head by a man at the address. The woman was taken to hospital.
Police spokesman Jakob Palmgren tells SVT News that the woman is said to have called for help and the police were then called to the scene.
– There is reason to believe that the woman was shot in the head, he says.
Non-life-threatening injuries
The woman was able to speak after the incident, and Palmgren believes that the shot likely did not hit any vital parts.
– The woman was taken to hospital but she was able to talk to us and the injuries are not life-threatening, says Jakob Palmgren to SVT.
The suspected perpetrator had left the apartment but was arrested by a patrol shortly after. The police knocked on the door and held interviews during the day.
