Commissionerate Police busted an illegal arms supply network by arresting three persons and recovering two AK-47 rifles, three magazines and 50 live cartridges from their possession, in Chheharta, Amritsar District, on September 10, reports The Tribune. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused were in contact with a foreign-based arms smuggler and supplied weapons to criminal elements in Punjab. Police are probing the network’s wider linkages.
